Gov’t releases Minister McClain’s burial protocols

MONROVIA, LIBERIA:-The Liberian Government has released official protocols befitting the home going of falling State for Presidential Affairs Minister, Edward B. McClain, Jr.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, quoting the official protocols, the remains of Minister McClain is currently at the Providence Baptist Church on Ashmun Street in Monrovia for wake-keeping from 5:00PM – 9:00PM.

The body of Dr. McClain was conveyed to the Church Saturday, August 20, 2016 at four post-meridian under appropriate military escort from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Home in Sinkor, a Monrovia suburb.

The release further quotes the protocols as saying while enroute, the body was carried at the Ministry, where it remained briefly for viewing by the Foreign Ministry staff.

“Funeral rites for the deceased will be held Monday, August 22 at the Providence Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 in the morning,” the release also said.

It further noted that the fallen Presidential Affairs Minister will be laid to rest on the same day at the Melton Family Plot in Upper Caldwell, Montserrado County.

Dr. McClain died recently in South Africa, following a period of illness.
