President Sirleaf mourns with Nigeria `

 (lbsoline/Liberia)-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has extended condolences to the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the lost of that country’s statesmen in a helicopter crash.

Those killed were Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, and former National Security Advisor Gen. Owoye Azazi.

President Sirleaf noted that the late Governor Yakowa and Gen. Azazi were what she called “towering statesmen who made tremendous contributions and sacrifices to the peace and progress of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and dedicated themselves to selfless service to their countrymen even up to the hour of their unfortunate and untimely deaths”.

The deceased were returning from the funeral of another astute Nigerian on Saturday, December 15, 2012 when the tragic incident occured in Nembe, Bayelsa State.

In her message, the Liberian Leader, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, extended to His Excellency, Goodluck Jonathan, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the people of Nigeria.

President Sirleaf particularly consoled the bereaved families, the grief-stricken populace of Kaduna State, for the irreparable loss sustained.

The Liberian Leader further prayed that the souls of those gallant countrymen of Nigeria will rest in peace.
