MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf says education remains the Liberian Government’s greatest challenge.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said the poor WAEC results indicate lack of adequate teaching equipment and schools not exhausting the required academic calendar.

The Liberian Leader made the statement when she delivered a special message at programs marking the official observance of Liberia’s 169th National Flag Day in Monrovia.

She called on parents and civil society organizations to partner with government in addressing the nation’s academic problems, including briberies, poor learning environment, among others.

The President also called on Liberians to see the national symbols as unifiers as enshrined in the nation’s history.

At the same time, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has certificated 35 Liberian schools that made one hundred percent pass in the 2016 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Exams.

The results of the WAEC Exams, covering nine subjects, were released in Monrovia recently by the Council’s Liberia office.
