Deputy Army Chief of Staff laid to rest

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Deputy AFL Chief of Staff, Eric Dennis, has been laid to rest at the Bensonville Cemetery in Bentol City, Montserrado County.

The remains of Colonel Dennis was buried Friday, August 26, 2016, following funeral rites at the Trinity Cathedral Church in Monrovia.

An array of senior government officials, military top brass, the religious community and the bereaved family, as well as friends and other sympathizers attended the burial ceremony to give the fallen Colonel a befitting homegoing.

Earlier during the funeral service, the Liberian Government described the late Army Deputy Chief of Staff as a dedicated career soldier and a patriot who served his country with distinction.

Thursday night, wake-keeping was held at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Paynesville, after the body’s removal on the same day from the St. Moses Funeral Parlors on Lynch Street under appropriate military escort.

Our reporter said the removal and wake keeping were well attended by family members, officers of the AFL and members of other state security agencies in Liberia, and sympathizers.

Following a brief illness, Colonel Eric Dennis died on August 8 at the Du-Side Hospital in Firestone, the largest rubber plantation company in Liberia.
