Prez. Sirleaf hails Dr. Tipoteh on his 75th Birthday observance

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has lauded Liberian Politician and Economist, Dr. Togba- Nah Tipoteh, for his consistency over the years.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said the level of nationalism and patriotism exhibited by Dr. Tipoteh are values not possessed by many Liberians.

The Liberian Leader made the statement Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at a symposium making the 75th birth anniversary of Dr. Tipoteh.

She applauded the prominent Liberian economist and politician for consistency in his views and principles. The President, however, urged Dr. Tipoteh to remain focused and consistent.

Addressing the Symposium, Dr. Tipoteh praised President Johnson-Sirleaf for her outstanding leadership during her administration. He recounted a 1972 speech by Liberian Chief Executive in which she urged Liberians to know-how to prevent chaos.

Other speakers at the program included Governance Commission Chairman, Dr. Amos Sawyer, prominent citizen, Mary Brownell, and Former Grand Kru County Senator, Cletus Wortoson, among others.

The observance of Dr. Tipoteh's Diamond Anniversary was intended to highlight Liberia's development challenges in line with his viewpoints.

The honoree’s birth day fell on July 17, 1941 in Liberia.
