MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has disclosed that the construction of the proposed Ministerial Complex will commence in the Country shortly.

The value of the Project is Sixty Million United States Dollars (US$60m).

Presidential Press Secretary, Jerolimek Piah, made the disclosure Monday, September 5, 2016 in an ELBC interview in Paynesville.

Mr. Piah said: “Actual work on the Ministerial Complex project will commence within thirty days.”

He said the initial disclosure was made at the Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting last week.

Mr. Piah described the development as welcoming, despite delays in the implementation of the project.

The Presidential Press Secretary also noted that contractors for the construction of the Complex are already in the Liberian Capital, Monrovia.

The Ministerial Complex will be implemented under a bilateral arrangement between Liberia and China.

As part of the arrangement, the Chinese Government is also expected to construct an annex to the Capital Building, the official seat of the Liberian National Legislature.

In a related development, Mr. Piah also told ELBC that China is currently preparing to resume renovation of the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex after the rainy season.
