Liberia to benefit from road connectivity –Min. Moore

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia stands to benefit from road connectivity under the ECOWAS Commission’s Infrastructure Development Program.

Public Works Minister, Gyude Moore, said: “The initiative is in fulfillment of the Commission’s commitment to ensuring road connectivity for ECOWAS member states.”

Minister Moore made the disclosure Tuesday, September 6, 2016  at the start of a two-day Validation Workshop on Roads and other Infrastructure Programs for ECOWAS states.

The ECOWAS-sponsored Validation Workshop is intended to discuss road network between ECOWAS countries, the Public Works Minister pointed out.

Minister Moore said: “The initiative is a milestone towards Liberia’s transformation agenda.”

“Liberia needs more than 2.2 billion United States Dollars for the construction of roads and other infrastructure development programs,” he also noted.

According to Minister Moore, ECOWAS member states attending the forum will also formulate strategies for resource mobilization for development projects within the sub region.
