Lawrence Randall …A great advocate for progress -Min. Nagbe

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Information Minister, Eugene Nagbe, has described the late media personality, Lawrence Randall, as a great advocate for positive improvement in Liberia`s media landscape.

Minister Nagbe said Lawrence Randall had great skills and encouraged emerging journalists to emulate the excellence and brilliance of the fallen journalist.

According to Minister Nagbe, Mr. Randall performed well as Head of Liberia`s Secretariat of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).

At the same time, other veteran local media practitioners also described the fallen journalist as respectful, humble and someone who was always willing to assist his colleagues.

Press Union of Liberia President, Abdullai Kamara, said: “Lawrence was a great unifier and a lead intellectual” among his peers.

“Liberia has loss a great media character and determined individual,” the Managing Editor of the Daily Observer Newspaper, Phillips Wesseh, said.

For his part, Frank Sainwola described Lawrence as “A man of great potentials and of intellectual ability.”

“He made positive impact in the lives of his colleagues,” Frank recalled.

“The rating he initiated under the media barometer as Head of the Liberia Media Center (LMC),” Journalist Hassan Kaiwu remembered him.

The media barometer was intended to encourage journalists and media institutions infuse best practices in the Liberian media.

Under one of the readings, the Liberia Broadcasting System was rated the best in the country.

Togar Lawrence Randall was born April 1979. He died about a month ago in the United States and his body was recently flown in Monrovia for burial.

Meanwhile, wake-keeping over the remains of Lawrence is taking place at the S. Trowen Nagbe United Methodist Church in Sinkor, suburb of the Liberian Capital, Monrovia. The deceased will be interred Saturday, September 10, 2016.
