Former LBS Director-General, James Wolo, is dead

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former LBS Director-General, James Wolo, is dead.

According to family sources, Mr. Wolo died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia, following a period of illness.

Minutes after the news of Professor Wolo’s demise broke out, scores of media executives, Journalists, students and friends described him as a media scholar, administrator and trainer, who served society with distinction.

They also described his death as a shock and great loss to not only the Liberian Media, but the country as a whole.

Prior to his death, Mr. Wolo served as Development Communication Professor at the University of Liberia, Head of the Monitoring and Development of Information Services of UNMIL, and Media Consultant at the Liberia News Agency (LINA), respectively.
