MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A cross section of rural teachers says Vice President, Joseph Boakai, will be the best candidate to replace President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf in 2017.

According to a release, the teachers said: “Endorsing VP Boakai would be better for the country.”

The release quotes the group’s Chairman, Foday Rogers, as saying: “The decision followed a critical review of all those wanting to become President of Liberia in 2017.”

“Currently, we have over 500 membership, comprises school administrators and proprietors across the country,” Mr. Rogers also noted.

The release described the Vice President as a man with great leadership quality, honesty, fairness and credibility.

The Rural Teachers United for Boakai was established two months ago and is carrying out serious recruitment across Liberia.
