MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating two auditors of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) for allegedly duping Government of its revenue.

Rose Dahn and Isaac Tambah were both arrested Friday, September 18, 2016 by agents of the LACC and the Liberia Revenue Authority, LRA.

Madam Dahn is one of the Team Leaders of the Small and Medium Tax Division of the LRA.

LRA Assistant Commissioner for Professional Ethics, Sumo Kalaplee, said: “Rose and Isaac were arrested with three thousand US dollars and allegedly received from the owner of Prime Steel Company to compromise government’s revenue.”

Mr. Kalaplee disclosed that Rose and Tambah after conducting an audit, billed the Proprietor of Prime Steel Company 100-thousand United States Dollars (US$100,000.00).

He also said the two LRA staff allegedly requested a bribe of three thousand United States Dollars (US$3,000.00) from the Proprietor to reduce the US$100,000.00 bill.

He told ELBC that the owner of Prime Steel cooperated with the LACC to arrest the two LRA employees.

Meanwhile, the LACC and the LRA have signed a MOU to fight corruption, including illicit trading, tax fraud, evasion, among others.
