MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Legislature has passed into law an act adopting the National Wildlife Conservation and Protected Area Management of Liberia.

The Art was passed after the Liberian Senate concurred with the House of Representatives Tuesday.

Our Legislative Reporter quotes the Senate as saying: “The intent of the Art is to maintain, protect and preserve wildlife as a National Heritage.”

He also said: “The Art will serve as an instrument of International best practices, including licensing, pricing system, hunting rules and regulations.”

“The Art will ensure institutions’ participation in wildlife-related decision- making and will provide the people economic benefits,” our reporter also noted.
