MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Minister, Bernice Dahn, has been selected as the 2017 University of Washington School of Public Health (UWSPH) Distinguished Alumni.

A release quotes a communication from the university to Dr. Dahn, the faculty, staff and students of the School as saying: “We are highly pleased to select the health minister for the honor.”

The University Of Washington School Of Public Health said Minister Dahn’s achievements as Liberia’s Health Minister truly reflects the School’s vision of creating healthy communities.

They also noted that Dr. Dahn’s selection further reflects the School’s values of integrity, collaboration, and impact. The Washington-based University emphasized: “The health minister’s nomination was robust with many supporters.”

“Dr. Dahn’s nomination was not based only on her strong work-ethic and accomplishments, but on her ability to connect with the individuals whom she serves,” the University also said.

A formal ceremony to confer the distinguished honor on Dr. Dahn is being planned and during the ceremony, she will co-present a public lecture on the UW Seattle campus early 2017.

The lecture is one of the largest public-facing-events, annually hosted by the School.

The events mark the 10th anniversary of the Department of Global Health, which has scheduled a series of events for early February next year.
