MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is calling for revision of some of the provisions in the new Accounting Act of Liberia.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said: “Though the Act is good, some provisions therein need to be localized to improve Liberia’s Accounting Sector to meet international standards.”

“The Executive Branch of Government will work along with the Liberian Institute of Certified Public Accountants to ensure that Liberia produces Senior Accountants to work abroad,” she said

The Liberian Leader spoke Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Monrovia at the launch of the Price Water House Cooper Advisory/Liberia Office.

President Johnson-Sirleaf then praised Price Water House Cooper Advisory International for establishing a branch in Liberia.

She emphasized: “The establishment of the entity’s Liberia Branch will ensure that people have access to accountant information and proper management system, among others.”

“Such systems will also enable the people adequately understand their businesses and know how to handle their profits,” the President added.
