Liberia’s calmness, progress make Pres. Sirleaf glad

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf says thirteen years of uninterrupted peace in Liberia is a remarkable achievement that she is proud of.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said she was glad that despite difficult times, the country has been calm and gradually progressing.

She spoke in an interview with reporters Saturday, October 29, 2016 during programs marking her 78th birth anniversary held on her farm in Julijuah, Bomi County.

The Liberian Leader was born on October 29, 1938 in Monrovia.

A host of senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, friends, family members, among others had gathered at President Johnson-Sirleaf’s farm to celebrate her birthday.

The Liberian Chief Executive expressed appreciation to everyone who showed up to wish her well and prayed that the peace would continue in the country.
