Amb. Sulunteh clarifies rumors about Liberian returnees

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Ambassador to the United States, Jeremiah Sulunteh, has clarified that only 20 Liberians are set to return home.

Ambassador Sulunteh also clarified that those expected to return home are not criminals, adding: “They are minor offenders deemed undesirable in the United States.”

The Liberian Envoy also dismissed rumors that over one thousand Liberians are to return home for committing crimes in the United States.

“There is a total of 229 Liberians, in different categories, screened by the United States Bureau of Immigration,” he said.

Ambassador Sulunteh noted: “Twenty out of that number are expected to return home shortly.”
