EU delegation in Liberia to access EU funded projects

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A delegation from the European Union is visiting Liberia to access EU founded projects in the country.

The delegation includes two Estonians Parliamentarians, Mati Raidma and Mart Nutt.

European Union Ambassador to Liberia, Tiina Intelmann, said, the visit is intended to get first-hand information on works done by implementing partners.

The EU Ambassador noted that, funding for these projects come from taxes paid by twenty eight nations which make up the European Union.

Ambassador Intelmann made the statement Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in an ELBC interview.

Madam Intelmann disclosed that the EU is paying 57% of the total cost of the Mount Coffee Hydro Project, making it the highest single donor.

At the same time, the European Union is also financing the maintenance of the Monrovia–Bo Waterside Road, and providing support to Ebola-affected communities.

The EU is also providing support to Urban and Peri- Urban Agriculture, Nutrition and Income, amongst others.
