MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Gambia’s Permanent Secretary of Trade, Naffia Barry, says the recent drop in commodity prices on the world market must hasten countries to diversify their economies.

Madam Barry made the statement Friday, November 4, 2016 at the ongoing West African Monetary Zone-Eighth Trade Minister Forum in Monrovia.

The Forum is aimed at improving cross border and regional trade with West African States to enhance regional integration through development and job creation.

The Gambian Permanent Secretary of Trade lauded the Liberian Government for combating Ebola that wrecked the country’s economy in 2014, and swiftly building up the broken nation back.

Madam Barry stressed the importance of focusing on developing capacities which enable free trade with each other in the ECOWAS Region.
