Pres. Sirleaf submits bills to Senate for passage

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has submitted eleven bills to the Liberian Senate for passage into law.

They include the Bill to ratify the Concession Agreement between Liberia and Liberia Cocoa, Bill to establish the Liberia Rubber Fund, and the Bill to establish the National Health Institute of Liberia.

The Act to ratify the Investment Incentive Agreement between Liberia and the Sethi Ferrofabrik Incorporated was also included among the eleven Bills summited to the Senate for passage into law.

Others are the Amendment to the Constitution of Liberia, a bill seeking to adopt the Security and Exchange Commission of Liberia 2016, a bill seeking to adopt the Central Security Depositories of Liberia 2016, Liberia Tax Amendments Act of 2016 and the Act to amend the Investment Code of 2010.

President Johnson-Sirleaf informed the Senate that she will also submit additional nine bills to that august body for passage into Law.

She named the bills as the Financing Agreement on Liberia Urban Water Supply Project between Liberia and the International Development Association, ratification of the first amendment to the Concession agreement between Liberia and LIBINC Oil Palm, ratification of the first amendment to the Concession agreement between Liberia and the Liberia Forest Products.

Others include the Financing Agreement between Liberia and the International Fund for Agriculture, the Act amending the Firestone Concession Agreement of 2008, an Act to establish Procedures for the Distribution of the United Nations List of Terrorists and Terrorist groups, among others.
