MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Commerce and Industry Minister, Axel Addy, says the Government is focus on transforming Liberian women entrepreneurs for better economic transactions in the ECOWAS Region.

Minister Addy said: “Women entrepreneurs create most jobs in the Liberian economy, but they most often operate in the informal sector.”

“This is making it difficult for the Government to develop programs for the sector,” he added.

The Commerce and Industry Minister spoke Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Monrovia at the Information Ministry’s regular press conference.

“The 4th annual conference of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will open in Monrovia Tuesday,” Minister Addy disclosed.

The Commerce Ministry Boss also said: “This year’s MSMEs Conference will highlight women entrepreneurs and their innovation.”

He said the women, among other entrepreneurs, will showcase their products and services at the conference and will explain to the Government what can be done to ensure that women own companies.
