LONDON-The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has pledged support to Liberia to boost the country’s Tourism Sector.

According to a dispatch, the World Tourism Secretary General, Taleb Rifai, described Liberia’s relationship with UNWTO as cordial and said it represents a Story of Pride for Africa.

Mr. Rifai said strong collaboration was needed between Liberia and his organization to attract international tourists to the country.
The World Tourism Secretary General made the statement recently in London, Great Britain, where Information Minister, Eugene Nagbe, presented Liberia's five-year Tourism Trade Strategy and Action Plan to the UNWTO.

The dispatch quotes Minister Nagbe as having pledged Liberia’s determination to invest in the Tourism Sector to help the country achieve economic recovery.

He said the Plan is an embodiment of critical protocols that continues to promote tourism and trade among nations and peoples of the world.
The Liberian Information Minister then made a passionate plea for technical collaboration and UNWTO’s intervention.

Minister Nagbe is attending the UNWTO-backed Ministerial Program with the World Travel Market, Excel London 2016.
