World Bank to provide lectures at UL

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The World Bank has disclosed plans to provide professional lectures at the University of Liberia (UL).

The Bank’s Country Manager, Larisa Leshcenko, said her institution has planned reaching out to other higher institutions of learning in Liberia to provide similar services.

Ms. Leshcenko said: “There is a need for more training of teachers to empower them support advanced tertiary education development in the country.”

She spoke in Monrovia Friday, November 11, 2016 when she paid a courtesy call on UL President, Emmett Dennis.
“The bank has begun the process of developing its new Country Partnership Frame work, intended to guide its engagement with Liberia over the next three to five years,” Ms. Leshcenko said.

For his part, Dr. Dennis thanked the World Bank Country Manager for the visit and commended the bank for its support to the development of the university.

He described the University of Liberia’s Accounting Program as a major achievement.
