(mlbsonline/Liberia)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has confirmed the sale of a major share by controversial Buchanan Renewables (BR) Company.

A letter from President Johnson-Sirleaf’s office confirmed several lapses by BR, including the company’s failure to improve its services to avoid workers agitation.

The Liberian leader’s communication to the House of Representatives was read in Plenary Tuesday 15th January, 2013.

According to the communication, Buchanan Renewables established five sub-companies as earlier announced by members of the Legislature.

President Johnson-Sirleaf, in the letter, appealed to the Legislature to work along with the Executive branch of government to change course for improved foreign partnership.

Grand Bassa County lawmaker, Byron Brown, recently threatened to lobby for the withdrawal of Buchanan Renewables from Liberia, accusing the company of its failure to respect the agreement with Government.
