Liberia’s 2017 electoral process gets boost from Sweden

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s 2017 electoral process has got a boost from a Swedish Government’s financial donation.

The Swedish Ambassador to Liberia, Lena Nordstrom, Wednesday, on November 30, 2016 disclosed that her government had committed US$2.7 million towards Liberia’s electoral process.

The Swedish Ambassador made the disclosure when she appeared on the Women Let’s Talk show on State Radio, ELBC.

The Swedish Diplomat said the money is intended to support the democratic transition in the country next year.

Ambassador Nordstrom praised the excellent relations between Sweden and Liberia and pledged her government’s continued support towards the enhancement of greater cooperation between the two countries.

She called for increased support for women and girls’ empowerment around the world, noting that once women and girls are empowered, the development initiatives of most nations can be achieved.
