Prez. Sirleaf regrets kids’ death in motorcade accident

MARGIBI COUNTY-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has sympathized with the families of two children recently killed by the Presidential motorcade.

President Johnson-Sirleaf expressed her deepest regrets over the incident Tuesday, December 6, 2016 when she visited the home of the bereaved families.

The Liberian Leader consoled the bereaved families saying: “I feel your sorrows.”

She also acquired first hand information on the funeral arrangements and other activities leading to the burial of the children’s remains.
For their part, the spokesman of the family, Mark Kordah, thanked President Johnson-Sirleaf for her concern shown, acknowledging that the sad incident was an accident.

Mr.Kordah also expressed gratitude for the level of concern and support shown by the Government during the President’s absence.
He said: “The children, Melvin Tucker and Jackson Kordah, will be laid to rest on December 17.”

The kids were killed while the President was enroute to the Roberts International Airport in Lower Margibi County, where she later departed for Ghana, Nigeria and London.
