Dr.Sawyer advises Ghanaians to vote peacefully

MONROVIA-The Head of ECOWAS Observer Mission to Ghana, Amos Sawyer, is urging Ghanaians to seriously uphold their tradition of peaceful elections during their ongoing electoral process.

Addressing the Elections Commission and the people of Ghana recently in Accra, Dr.Sawyer highlighted the role and expectations of ECOWAS.

He noted that the regional observers are expected to witness the conduct of the presidential and parliamentary polls.

The Liberian statesman also urged the team to be professional in reporting events relating to the conduct of the voters, electoral authorities, and security agents on elections day.

The events were graced by Ambassadors and permanent representatives of ECOWAS, ECOWAS Commissioners of Political Affairs, peace and security experts from electoral management bodies, as well as ministers of Foreign Affairs and other trained elections observers.

Ghanaians are voting today Wednesday, December 7 in Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
