MONROVIA-Delegates at the 21st Congress of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) have voted to expel Executive Committee Member Rochelle Woodson and suspend Vice President for Operations, Cassell Kouh for 90 days.

The decision to expel EC Woodson and suspend VPO Kouh followed a proposal submitted by LISCR FC President Mustapha Raji.

In his proposal, Mr. Raji petitioned the Congress to take action on the long absence of EC Rochelle Woodson and Vice President Cassell Kouh in keeping with article 47.2 of the LFA status.

That provision calls for the replacement of an Executive Committee member who does not participate in 4 consecutive regular EC meetings. 35 of the 50 delegates voted for the action to be taken against Vice President Kouh and EC Woodson.

The two are presently in the United States, with the Vice President for operations said to be undergoing an FBI investigation, while Madam Woodson is believed to be on maternity leave.

Madam Woodson had said she was given permit by the LFA top brass to take maternity leave, which she’s presently undergoing.

Football stakeholders who voted for the decision said they had no information as to whether the LFA EC member was given an excuse.
Speaking to reporters at the end of the congress, LFA President Musa Bility said the LFA will go by the decision of Congress to expel Madam Woodson and suspend VPO Kouh.

Sources within the LFA said there was no record in granting madam Woodson a maternity leave.

EC Woodson will be replaced at a bi-election at the next congress which will happen in 90 days’ time.

(The former Gardnerville FC President who was expelled in March 2012 can appeal against the decision by going to the LFA appeal committee with an appeal.
