MONROVIA- Leading Liberian grass root businesses Tuesday staged a stay home action and halted the usual brisk business in Monrovia and its surrounding business districts.

The Patriotic Entrepreneur of Liberia and other concerned business people on January 31, 2017 petitioned the National Legislature to address the issues of high infliction rate of the Liberian Dollar against the United States Dollar, the high cost of taxes exclusively in United States Dollars among others.

The Leadership of the National Legislature, Senate Protemp, Amah Jallah and House Speaker, Emmanuel Nuquay in response promised to work with the leadership of the aggrieved business people to ensure that some of their concerns are addressed.

They also pledged to fine a long and short terms solution to the current economic problems confronting the nation and people.

“The Legislature cannot instantly address all the grievances as once and appealed to them to reopen their businesses to ensure normalcy in the Country,” the Senate Protemp and the House Speaker told the protesters.
