The Government of Liberia says it will not allow anyone to undermine the current peace Liberia now enjoys by terrorizing Liberians in any form and manner.

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf assured Liberians Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Bomi County in response to concerns by Bomi citizens of being terrified by a mysterious bamboo.

President Sirleaf said:” The situation is being perpetrated by unknown persons to instill fears in the people for their selfish motives, at the detriment of desirable citizens.”

She warned would be doers of the act to desist or face serious consequences of the law.

The residents of the Teh District and surrounding area, are complaining of being chased by the bamboo, thereby stopping them from doing their daily routines, including preventing students from going to school.

Interacting with the president during her tour of western Liberia, the residents also said they were not going out to do their voter registration as a result of the situation.
