PUL launches Headquarters construction Project Saturday

MNOROVIA, LIBERIA-The leadership of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the construction of the Union’s National Headquarters, despite prolonged delayed of the process.

PUL Special Project Chairman, Dozzo Zoon said: “The PUL is launching a formal launch of the Headquarters’ construction project this Saturday, February18, 2017 in Monrovia.”

According to him, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is expected to serve as Chief Launcher of the project during the launching ceremony at the site of the project.

Chairman Zoon, said a plan to construct the Union’s headquarters was conceived in 2008 under the leadership of PUL former President, George Barpeen.

He also said the plan was soon thwarted when a US$ 100,000 was presented as a gift from President Sirleaf to the PUL for the project was squandered allegedly by the then leadership.

“The matter was taken to court, but later withdrawn by the current leadership of the Press Union, headed by Mr. Charles Coffey, the PUL Special Project Chairman, Zoon said.
