Joint efforts will solve economic problem-VP Boakai

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Vice President Joseph Boakai is calling for a joint collaboration in finding lasting solution to the country economic problem.

VP Boakai said: “Liberia spends over U$ 2m on rice importation annually, that amount could be used to develop the country’s rice industry.”

He spook to journalists at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Tuesday, February 14, 2017 upon his arrival from the United States, where he attended the American Congress Tea Party.

Vice President, Boakai, is also calling for the strengthening of the country’s agriculture sector by providing direct assistance to farmers, as key to national development.

“Concrete steps must be taken to enable Liberians take control of their economy, Ambassador Boakai said.

The Liberian Vice President has commended President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for her outstanding leadership role in handling the economic crisis that has rocked the country.

“Let me use this occasion to plead with you stakeholders of the private and public sectors, let’s collaborate with government to enable us find lasting solution to the economic problem we are faced with as a country.”

VP Boakai, at the same time is urging Liberians do away with corruption to help restore confidence in public officials.
