Prez Sirleaf praises Economic Commission

MONROVIA-The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has applauded the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) for its timely response to an Memorandum of Understanding between the Commission and Liberia.

The President said she was delighted that the team has covered a lot relating to their mission in the country.

The Liberian Leader said:” The work of the ECA in partnership with the government will help to move the frame work forward.”

According to an Executive Mansion release, the President spoke Thursday, February 17, 2017 when she received an ECA Delegation at her Foreign Ministry Office in Monrovia.

The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Boima Kamara, also commended the head of the Economic Commission for Africa, Carlos Lopez, for his supportive role in formulating and subsequently signing the Memorandum Understanding between Liberia and the Commission.

He said the valuable experience of Dr.Lopez brought to bear quality in terms of the domestication of the STGs.

Speaking earlier, the Head of Delegation, Isatou Gaye, restated the Commission’s commitment to the trappings of the Memorandum of Understanding.

Madame Gaye also assured that the Commission will work along with Liberia to realize the objective of the Memorandum of Understanding.

The Government of Liberia and the Economic Commission for Africa signed a Memorandum of Understanding on synchronizing the smooth implementation of the Agenda for Transformation, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
