Nat’l Elections Commission prepares for Lofa By-election

MONROVIA-The National Elections Commission says it has received forty-thousand –one-hundred ballot papers for the ensuing February 28, Lofa County District One By-Election.

The ballot papers according to NEC are currently in its warehouse under state security protection awaiting deployment to Lofa County.

Meanwhile, a release from NEC dated February 17,2017,said campaign activities and Election Day awareness are ongoing with the nine qualified representative candidates actively increasing the pace of their respective campaigns.

The release further added that District One eligible voters are expected to vote at the seventeen published precincts.

NEC also said:” Over two-hundred-nineteen polling staff are expected to undergo training before the February 26 final deployment, and ongoing political campaign by the nine candidates will officially end on Sunday, February 26, at midnight.”
