Gender Ministry prepares for International Women’s Day

MONROVIA-The Ministry of Gender says its focus on this year’s International Women’s Day is to identify challenges in women leadership and empowerment.

Deputy Gender Minister, Sianneh Abdu Baki, said:” This year’s celebration will champion Women Colloquium, with one-thousand-five-hundred participants along with international guests.”

Speaking Thursday at the Ministry of Information Press briefing in Monrovia, Deputy Minister Baki said the ministry is targeting fifteen-thousand participants across the country.

The program will be held Thursday, March 7, 2017 with the official celebration on March 8 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.

Topics to be discussed: Promoting Women’s Leadership, Enhancing Women’s Political Participation, and Women’s Economic Empowerment, etc.

The Gender Ministry is meanwhile calling on the women of Liberia, men, women and children to grace the occasion.
