Vice President Boakai holds talks with French Minister of State…

PARIS, FRANCE-Vice President Joseph Boakai and the French Minister of State for Development and Francophinie, Jean Marie Le Guen, have held talks in Paris.

The talks focused on the promotion of Liberia-France relations, including enhancing development, trade and cooperation.

In a dispatch on March 27, 2017, Vice President Boakai recounted the many contributions of the French Government, and welcomed more development in the areas of mining, fisheries, agriculture and tourism.

He said: “There’s a need to see more improvements and assistance in the areas of electrical power, technical and vocational education, road network, information and technology and transportation.”

The Vice President and French Minister of State for Development discussed the stronger ties and cooperation existing between the two countries.

He said:” Such cordiality has seen the need to review the issuance of French visa in collaboration with other EU Embassies with offices in Monrovia.”

Meanwhile, Minister Le Guen assured the Vice President of the need to review the status of the French Institute in Monrovia, Alliance Francaise.
He said the review process will lead to revamping the institute and making it operational, among others.
