MONROVIA-The Commissioner General at the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Elfrieda Tamba, wants Liberians to support the mobilization of domestic revenue as donor funding declines.

Commissioner Tamba said:” Donors want Liberia to focus on domestic resource mobilization and are willing to help the country improve its tax administration and policy formulation.”

Commissioner Tamba made the statement Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Monrovia City Hall, when the LRA, in collaboration with the Finance and Development Planning Ministry, launched the Real Estate Community Partnership for Domestic Resource Mobilization project.

She said the project will mitigate the current gap in revenue leakages and strengthen citizens’ awareness on their national responsibility to pay taxes to facilitate nation building.

Also speaking, Finance and Development Planning Minister, Boima Kamara, said domestic resource mobilization is an essential component of the sustainable economic development of the country.

Minister Kamara also said domestic resource mobilization in Liberia is an imperative to achieve the sustainable development goals as well as economic and infrastructure development.
