MONROVIA-The President of the Republic Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, is calling for strong collaboration between the World Food Program and the Liberian Government.

President Sirleaf wants such collaboration particularly directed to a home feeding program.

The feeding program focuses on the preparation of nutritious meals to enhance the growth and development of children currently in school.
According to an executive Mansion release issued on April 18,2017,the Liberian Leader made the call  when the Regional Director of the World Food Program for West and Central Africa,Abdou Dieng, paid her a courtesy call at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Sirleaf also appealed to the WFP delegation to formulate technical details aimed at ensuring the development of a program, as well as an implementation plan.

She assured the delegation of her commitment to assisting in the mobilization of funding and strategies on how soon a working document or program will be finalized.

Speaking earlier, the World Food Program Regional Director thanked President Sirleaf for the opportunity and made a reciprocal appeal for her support and advocacy to resuscitate the school feeding program.
