MONROVIA-The Government of Liberia and Civil Society Organizations have validated the draft whistle-blower and witness protection bill.

According to a release, the bills are expected to be submitted to the National Legislature to be enacted into laws.

The release says the two bills were validated at the end of a one day validation workshop held at a local hotel in Monrovia.

Prior to the validation exercise, the bills were earlier drafted by participants at a three-day workshop held in March this year.

The workshop was organized by the Liberia anti-corruption Commission (LACC) in collaboration with integrity institutions, government functionaries and CSOs.

They were drawn from the Ministry of Justice, Governance Commission, UNMIL, Liberia National Bar Association, Law Reform Commission, Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, among others.

The validation workshop grew out of the regional workshop on whistleblower and witness protection in the fight against corruption in Liberia.
