Vice President Joseph Boakai is challenging the Liberian media to be robust and objective in exposing societal ills in Liberia.

He wants the media in Liberia to report factual stories and refrain from writing unbalanced articles.

He said:” Truth telling by the media would be based on research and verification of actual situations taking place in the country.”

A dispatch said the Vice President made the assertion recently in Washington, D.C. when he met with a four-man delegation of the Association of Liberian Journalists in America.

Speaking earlier, the Association’s Chairman, Moses Sandy, thanked the Liberian Government for the good work they are doing in maintaining peace and stability in Liberia.

He said:” The Association has no allegiance with any political parties, candidates, and groups and we are calling on the Unity Party led-Government to ensure that 2017 elections are peaceful.”
