President Sirleaf makes new appointments in Government

MONROVIA-The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has made several new appointments in Government. According to an Executive Mansion released issued on April 25, 2017, the appointments affect the Judiciary, Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Labor, and the Grand Bassa Community College. Those appointed are Cllr, Serena Garlawolu, Resident Judge at the Criminal Court ‘E’, and Cllr.Scheaplor Dunbar, Relieving Judge. At the Foreign Ministry, the President has appointed Cllr. Lois Bruthus as Ambassador to the United States of America, and Mrs. Musu Ruhle as Ambassador to Sierra Leone. Others also appointed include Atty.Jerome Kolleh, Assistant Labor Minister for Standards and Dr.Nathaniel Gbessagee, President of the Grand Bassa County Community College with immediate effect. Dr.Gbessagee replaces the college interim President Madam Augurie Heming. The release said Dr.Gbessageee’s appointment followed a result of an independent vetting process instituted by the Commission on Higher Education, and was chaired by retired Methodist Bishop Arthur Kulah. Meanwhile, President Sirleaf has also dissolved the Board of Trustees of the Grand Bassa Community College. The Board of Trustees will be reconstituted shortly consistent with the Charter of the College. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate, where applicable.
