President submits bills to National Legislature

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has submitted several bills to the National Legislature for consideration. The bills include an Act to establish and manage the Grebo and Krahn Forest National Park and an Act to amend the Revenue Code of Liberia. Others are the phase one of the Reform Tax Code of Liberia 2000, amended by the consolidated tax amendments act of 2001 to adopt a modernized Customs Code of 2017. The President also submitted an act to ratify the decision adopting the ECOWAS Common External Tariff, an act repealing the Public Employment Law and amending the Executive Law to create a Civil Service Commission. President Sirleaf also submitted a financing agreement for the Regional Disease Surveillance Systems Enhancement Project in West Africa. In another development, the Liberian Senate has concurred with the House of Representatives on the passage of an ACT to ratify the Gbarnga-Salayea Road project.
