Liberia sends Congratulatory Message to the United States

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has sent congratulatory message to the United States of America on the occasion marking its 241st Independence Anniversary, July 4. The day, also referred to as Fourth of July, in the United States, is the annual celebration of nationhood. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the independence of the United States from Great Britain and its king, then George III. A Foreign Ministry release said Liberia’s congratulatory message to the United States was sent by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who on behalf of the Liberian Government and people, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to her American counterpart, Donald Trump, and the American people. She wished her US counterpart all the best as the United States commemorates another milestone in its nationhood. The Liberian Chief Executive said Liberia recalls the historic bond of friendship and cooperation between the two countries which continues to witness exponential heights. President Sirleaf said Liberia will continue to engage with the US as its largest bilateral partner within the existing bilateral frameworks. She made reference to the Liberia-US Partnership Dialogue for mutual prosperity of the two nations and peoples as they deepen their commitment to global peace, security and sustainable economic development.
