President Sirleaf submits $ 200 Million Dollars Agreement to National Legislature

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has submitted a Two-Hundred-Million United States Dollars Investment Incentive Agreement to the Legislature for ratification.

The objective of the agreement is to develop and operate steel and cement plants in Liberia.

The President said the Investment Incentive Agreement will boost Liberia’s steel and cement industries, and provide jobs at all levels.
According to the President’s communication, the investment will also generate huge revenue for the country.

The Agreement is between the Liberian Government, TIDFORE Investment Company and Liberia Steel and Cement Mining (LICEMCO).

President Sirleaf is calling on the Legislators to consider   the speedy passage of the instrument, as it is in the interest of the country’s sustainable economic environment.

Plenary of the House has forwarded the agreement to the committees on Investment, Lands and Mines to report back in two weeks.
