MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) is warning against comments and allegations that have the tendency to undermine the electoral process.

According to the INCHR, some political parties and their supporters are in the habit of making harsh and unrealistic comments against others.

The Acting Chairperson of the Commission, Bartholomew Colley, said hate messages by political parties and their supporters could endanger the 2017 Elections.

Mr.Colley made reference to increasing tribal politics, including expressions such as “Country man or Congo man.”

He said such comments are unproductive to peace and stability in Liberia.

Cllr.Colley said the INCHR strongly condemns the comments and calls on individuals linked to such divisive statements to stop in the interest of peace and democracy.

He made the comments Tuesday at the Commission’s headquarters in Sinkor.
