MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Youth and Sports Minister Charles Saah N’Tow says the Youth Opportunity Project aimed at improving access to income generation opportunities will kickoff shortly in Liberia.

Minister N’Tow said: “The project has been delayed due to difficulties in recruiting qualified young people in all of the counties to supervise the program.”

He told ELBC News Tuesday, September 12, 2017, only young people residing in the counties are eligible to be selected to coordinate the Project in their respective counties.

Minister N’Tow said young people migrating from Monrovia to the counties to be recruited for the job have caused delay for the project in five counties.

The Youth and Sports Minister said youths running to the counties to get recruited are been denied, as they are not domicile in the counties.

According to him, Lofa, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Sinoe and Grand Kru counties are counties where the recruitment of County Coordinators will have to be redone as those earlier selected are domiciled in Monrovia.

The Youth Opportunity Project is a 10(M) Million U.S. dollar project sponsored by the World Bank, which is intended to benefit fifteen thousand young people across the country.
