Vice presidential candidates’ debate to be held in Margibi County

The Liberia Media for Democratic Initiative (LMDI) and the Public Trust Media Group are expected to hold their first and only regionalized Vice Presidentail debate in Kakata, Margibi County Friday.

The Liberia Media for Democratic Initiative (LMDI) and the Public Trust Media Group are expected to hold their first and only regionalized Vice Presidentail debate in Kakata, Margibi County Friday.

Friday’s debate, according to a release issued Thursday, September 14,2017, will feature only    vice presidential candidates in the 2017 Presidential and Legislative Elections.

According to the release, the exercise is part of a series of Liberia’s first ever regionalized National Debates for National Candidates in Liberian elections to directly link rural Liberians to their national presidential candidates.

The release further notes that the Vice Presidential debate is a singular outcome of four planned regionalized presidential debates, two of which have already been held in Ganta, Nimba County.

The Kakata debate is also opened to all vice presidential candidates of all political parties and independent candidates.

Meanwhile, the LMDI and the Public Trust Media Group Elections consortium say they believe that all candidates in the 2017 Elections are equal in their quest for elections in the respective positions during the electoral process.
