MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is expected to address the 72nd regular session of the United Nations General Assembly today in New York, the United States of America.

The President’s address which marks her final to the General Assembly in her capacity as President of Liberia will be delivered during the 3rd and 4th plenary meetings.

Her deliberation will follow speeches by prominent world leaders, including US President, Donald Trump, and France President, Emmanuel Macron.

The UN General Assembly opened Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the UN Headquarters in New York, with its 193-member states in attendance.

The Assembly, expected to end Monday, September 25, is convening under the theme ‘Focusing on People – Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for all on a Sustainable Planet.’

According to a dispatch, high on the 8-item-agenda are Education, Environmental Conventions and Social Development, Trade and Gender and Human Development.

Others are Globalization and the 2030 Agenda, Technology and Innovation, and Water and Sanitation.
