UN-Assembly President Lajcak identifies six priorities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The President of the United Nations-General Assembly 72nd Session,  Moroslav Lajcak has identified six overarching priorities for his tenure after his election.

Mr. Lajcak said: “Making a difference in the lives of ordinary people, prevention and mediation for sustaining peace and migration are the six priorities”.

He named other aspects as political momentum for Sustainable Development Goals and climate, human rights and equality, as well as equal opportunities for genders, among others.

According to a dispatch, a number of events have taken place in parallel to the opening of the 72nd Session of the UN-General Assembly, including Global Goals Week-2017 and Climate Week NYC-2017.

The General Assembly is one of the six main organs of the United Nations, the only one in which all member states have equal representation.
