President Sirleaf clarifies

LOWER MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has provided clarity on her recent statement bordering on the need for generational change.

President Sirleaf made the clarification Monday, October 2, 2017, when she addressed reporters upon her return to Liberia at the Robert International Airport in Margibi County.

The Liberian Leader said: “The numerous ministers in my Government indicate that the youthful population is at center stage of national decision-making.”

She then called on the public to desist from politicizing her recent comments on the issue, saying she does not see any reason for some individuals to blow such comments out of proposition.

The President acknowledged that the country is currently experiencing generational change and urged the public to stop making mountains out of hills.

Recently the Liberian leader, in her address at the United Nations General Assembly, emphasized the need for generational change, a statement which has had several interpretations in the public.
