Liberia Decides-2017: 2nd Provisional results maintain opposition CDC leads - NEC

MONROVIA, Liberia-A second, in a series of provisional results maintain the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change, and the ruling Unity Party as front-runners in the Presidential race.

The National Elections Commission (NEC) Chairman, Cllr.  Jerome Korkoya announced that: “CDC’s George Weah has obtained 240,750 votes or 39.6% while UP’s Joseph Boakai got 160,975 votes 31.1%”.

Cllr. Korkoya said the results account for 547,965 votes representing 74.58% from 1,817 polling places across the country.

He said: “The 1,817 processed polling places make up 33.71% of the total 5,390 polling places established across the country”.

Addressing a live press conference at the Commission’s Headquarters in Monrovia Friday, October 13, 2017, Chairman Korkoya said only River Gee County has been fully completed.

Here are other results:
• Liberty Party’s Charles Brumskine---48,219 - 9.3%

• Alexander Cummings-Alternative National Congress (ANC) 34,550 = 6.7%.

• Prince Johnson of the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR)-24948 = 4.8%


• Dr. Benoni Urey of the All Liberian Party (ALP)-8208 --1.8%

• Dr. Mills Jones of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) - 4,349 votes-- 0.8%.
